Compass Group hosts its first Procurement Deep Dive

Compass Group PLC, the world's leading food services company, hosted its first Procurement Deep Dive on 12 September; a virtual event providing institutional investors, analysts and other key stakeholders with an insight into Foodbuy, its leading Group Purchasing Organisation, which is critical to its growth and a key competitive advantage.

Hosted by Agatha Donnelly, Head of Investor Relations & Corporate Communications, with input from a panel of leaders from across the business, the deep dive focused on these key areas:

  • Foodbuy USA - the largest food services GPO in North America, now procuring over $32bn of food and beverages each year, with an excellent compliance rate of over 90% for Compass;
  • The importance of Culinary – close relationship with procurement to ensure the purchasing of high-quality products that Compass chefs and clients demand, as well as securing great commercial deals;
  • Foodbuy UK – created in 2016 and following the US blueprint, with a clear plan to build third party revenue and accelerate growth;
  • Mainland Europe – developing individual country procurement roadmaps, given purchasing is managed within country - reflecting different languages, systems and supply chains.
